Evaluation Question Two

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In my media production, there two main social groups that I have addressed. A young teenaged girl and a mysterious man who the audience don’t know much about.

The protagonist who is a vulnerable girl. She is represented in many ways including the costume she is wearing. We decided to dress her in a white wedding dress as this suggests purity and innocence. Suiting her character as the vulnerable protagonist. Further it is very stereo typical for the women to need saving, we used this in our production as we put her in a vulnerable position where she is scared and acts in a way that suggests she needs saving.  Further as my target audience is the same kind of age as my main character we wanted to allow the audience to relate to her and feel sympathetic towards her.
This is a photo of our main character in the her costume.

The mysterious man that we introduced in the opening sequence, was there for the audience to ask questions and be slightly puzzled. Furthermore, we introduced him in a slow manner but as though he was going to the church to pray. As the audience knew that’s where the girl woke up we were hoping that they would believe there was a connection between the two. We dressed him in black to suggest the opposite of the girl and give him a dangerous vibe.
this is an example of the male character, as we  only gradually introduced him.
